We would like to announce that the first edition of Metsjövidda Fjällrace is now history. In this unique long distance sled dog race the mushers and their huskies covered a distance of 265 km of beautiful mountain terrain. In the three checkpoints the teams were provided with straw and fresh water. A mandatory rest of 5 hours had to be taken in the halfway checkpoint where - after feeding and bedding down the 4-legged athletes - a hot elk-stew was served for the mushers.
Metsjövidda Fjällrace is an „inofficial“ sled dog race that is organized by Petter Karlsson and the participation is reserved for Bozita Robur Long Distance Team members and their supporters.
We would like to thank all involved people that made the event a huge success - we are already looking forward to the next edition!
